This fine 1967 tune speaks well of the New Orleans R&B tradition. Tell it Like it is was also, perhaps, Aaron Neville's finest moment. While on vacation in July 2000, I met the Neville brothers, on the ferry to Martha's Vineyard, MA. They had a gig at the Hot Tin Roof July 14. I spoke with Art, and then Aaron; and asked him about this session. I was amazed when he said the commercial release was off the very first take, "because of its innocence... They were really nice and approachable.

i love music from this era.the performers of the 60's &70's could sing like birds and they really put vocalists today to shame

thanks for that info, AngelaRed! I always thought he had a totally underated voice - a really mellodic(sp?) voice. I thought that in the old days when he was singing with his brothers. Shame we couldn't have heard more from him!
