I respect this I really do, I myself have doen alot of body sparring and know how much stamina and good condition it takes! but... you cant call this a real fight on any level its about whos body can take the most punishment nothing more, drop your hands and pound away boys!!

People who don't practice that kind of combat don't know how much strength, stamina and power it takes. Maybe they don't punch in the face but not wearing gloves is a totaly different thing.

These poor MMA pricks dont realise that its knock down rules so get over it in a real fight I would kick your leading leg/knee cap or shin with with my leading leg side kick and it would be over

what a fucken load of horse shit - there is sero point in learning taking part in or watching a fighting based sport/system where you arent allowed strike to the head. but thats coming from a person who thinks full contact MMA is weak. all that kicking and punching - its much easier to pull out an eye or to bite out someones throat. pull someones ear off and they suddenly forget they are in a fight, they are simply concerned with retrieving their ear.

Karate S*CKS a lot!!!

lol don't be so quick to glorify it. Brazil and Thailand are poor countries - people who have gone there to train have frequently been disappointed. And there are "McDojos" willing to give you a BJJ black belt for $100 in Brazil too

suzmot:You must live in a small country town where the only martial arts around are muay thai and taekwondo, of course you feel superior. Theres kyokushin dojo's all over Australia, Manly, West Ryde, Shell Harbour, Wolongong; please go in and have a training session with them (usually they have one free session, no commitment). Make sure you tell them you have combat experience, otherwise they might take it easy on you. After you do that, feel free to bash kyokushin.

Consider such fellows as Chuck liddel, Bas Rutten, and georges st. pierre. All of them trained in karate (Liddell=Koeikan, Rutten&Pierre=Kyokushin), and I highly doubt any of them would discount the training they received from the traditional schools. As such, i don't believe that calling this Karate a "weak" martial art is a fair assessment.(whew. that's a lot of info I wanted to get down there)

I also highly doubt that he ever dropped the vast majority of techniques learned in Kyokushin. Although you may never see him use a knife hand or a groin kick in the ring, the training under kyokushin gave him the basics necessary to be an effective kickboxer. Yes he trained in kickboxing, but one can see that the concepts learned from karate factored heavily in his style, even if you may not see the actual conception of them in practice. |
