If you are implying that Cliff played Guitar before Bass I would like to inform you that no Cliff never played Guitar he played Bass. He started for his brother who had died. He was quoted "I want to become the best Bass playr for my brother"

Metallica WOULD NOT be the way they are today without Cliff Burton. Thats ALL there is to it!!!!!!! Metallica's three best bass players are Cliff Burton, Jason Newsted, and Robert Trujillo. Cliff and Jason were Metallica's BEST bass players!!!!!!!!
