I'm r'tarded. It's on STILL, not REMAINS.

It was recorded in demo form and released as joy division on the REMAINS comp. Splitting hairs - you're essentially right - but if someone wanted to hear it with Curtis' vocals, it's out there.

I generally don't like covers, but this one is real cool because RH shows art, creativity, emulation, feeling ... wit

I don't think there is a right or wrong. They recorded it once live with Ian, and they weren't really able to make it out due to the poor recording quality(off of 'Still). So they re-wrote some of the lyrics and recorded it as New Order. So I don't think its really wrong to call it a New Order or Joy Division song. I kind of view it as the bridge from Joy Division to New Order. Anyway who cares, its a fricken classic!

its curtis' lyric, but they never sat down and recorded it, it was only played live by joy division before his death, new order then formed and released it as a tribute, so your not really wrong to say either way.

Erm, what about Stephen Morris? It's his style that's being copied here! |
