omg that's so gutsy it's fantastic! Anyone who thinks this sucks needs to appreciate music more. With all the unorthodox rhythms and time signatures and change of tempo and instrumentation and everyone playing in sync this is actually genious.

That was filmed in the 1980's on a show hosted by David Sanborn called "Night Music".

Just to clarify, when i say 'a westernised version of this music' i mean 2 guitarists, 1 bass, 1 drummer and one screaming vocalist. Dont expect accordians and clarinet playing. And dont judge me if you hate it.

Dude, have got to agree with you, this really is good stuff. With regards to the Metal you refer to - Dillinger Escape Plan and Messugah are exellant proponents of a westernised version of this music. Im a particular fan of Dillinger, and both of their drummers - Gil Sharone, and former drummer Chris Pennie. 'Chris Pennies drum workshops' are definitely worth a search and listen - check out his When good dogs do bad things' work shop.

Transcending all technique, this is the most interesting music I have ever laid my ears upon.I have students who are very far in the "death metal" realm of music and they can cite these guys as influence. For me, Ivo Papasov is a hero of mine. He spent time in captivity because he refused to stop playing his music.

that's really interesting. i've always wondered what it would be like to have 5, 7, 9, 11, etc the prevalent timing for our culture rather than 4. rhythm is all perspective. |
