This Movie kicks ass! I like both freddy and jason but Jason is more Famous then Freddy.

Yeah your right. I never really got scared in slasher films (except maybe for a few rare jumps that only happened in like one or two movies). But the idea was scary. But pt 8 did lose that I will admit. Jason should have just gone wild on the whole city and that would have been better. Agreed on the guys. Harrison Ford is a tough guy anyway however. And the fans do sometimes judge Jesse from NOES2 being straight. But overall yeah it's true. Guys do better as targets or villains in horror.

The only way guys work in a horror movie over a female lead is if they are in the Bruce Campbell realm or if you want to go really dark Indiana Jones in the Temple of Doom. The wussy ones simply look gay. (See NOES2.) I liked Jason Takes Manhatten because the premise was so ridiculous that it was Rocky Horror fodder for me by that point. (From the moment they had a James Bond style intro in a Jason movie, the series had ceased to be scary in my eyes.)

As for the Tina thing, if she was brought back it'd be too simple. Tommy was better in pt 6 but I never liked him that much. Somehow females just seem to be better heroes in slasher films than males (like in NOES2). I kind o liked pt 8, but it could have been much better and the end was pretty odd. I know Jason can now "regenerate tissue" but still. He COMPLETLY melted! Plus he wasn't actaully in New York through most of it. It was better than the next ones though.

Yeah man Ginger Snaps is like my second favorite movie! I didn't HATE Freddy's Dead (only cause Freddy was himself and not altered like Jason) but it was certainly not good due to the acting, title, and end. Plus some of the kills in that were just a little TOO ridiculous and even though I always thought Freddy was funny, I thought his humour was pushed a little bit. New Line, though I love them usually really crushed Jason when they bought him after part 8. He was okay in this though. |
