The movie is set in Eastern Europe, somewhere in Croatia or something. Basically next doors to Germany. So that is not Russia. It has nothing to do with the Barbarossa plan. They would have plenty of time, 5 years or so, to set up this complex.

Yes, you are right, the Russian guy is Spetsnaz (although he put the real Spetsnaz to shame, with his strange shooting and stuff)... you can see a patch on his shoulder sleeve saying SPETZNAS (written in Russian)

This film was awesome. We saw this prior to playing zombie mode in Call of duty World At War. Funnest Party I ever had!
