An immediate self-correction re the DATE. I thought the 70s. Your liner notes say 1981 as the subject album date. Thanks lazydaysleeper. Sometimes I'm a dumb-arse who opens his mouth before engaging the brain !

What a fabulous song; a wonderful duet; & that beat ! Listen to this with the 'phones up loud, & set to a bass bias. Man, what a depth of a sound ! I remember this song from some movie soundtrack, and I've never forgotten it since. Randy Newman's "Rider In The Rain" was also on the s'track - so it must have come from some time in the 70s. But with such fine country-music bloodlines & pedigrees like these 2 duet-artists possess, how could they NOT produce a slow-hand tune so pleasing to the ear !

they did it, this may be a older version. Shelly sounds "deeper" more mature. The one we all know was prob. the first make.

David Frizzell and Shelly West - You're The Reason God Made Oklahomaone of my favorite tunes:: did they do other versions? Or did David Frizzell do a duet with somebody else? This doesn't QUITE sound like the version I know & love???I know it was David Frizzell and that it was a male/female duet????
