The secret is in the manipulation. You have top push the key quickly while making sure that you maintain a tension in it. That is not easy ! It looks like raking technique.

It takes more than one hit... I'm a locksmith and believe me it takes more than one hit... Unless you're doing it to a piece of junk lock like a Kwikset.
