It's shale, not normal oil. The process required to extract the oil from that shale is highly inefficient and highly energy dependent, not to mention experimental, it's essentially irrelevant compared to any number of other energy production methods such as solar/wind/nuclear/gas.

There's enough methane on Jupiters moon Titan to power the earth for thousands a years, unfortunately this "potential oil" he speaks of is about as cost efficient to get to as the moon Titan would be. (Ok, not quite that far out of reach) There's a reason they're not tapping all the oil because we lack the ability to cost effectively tap the SHALE oil there. You can't just drill it like we do everywhere else.

He is right, this Government don't want to bring out more engery.They want control of the American people and their dollars.Just look how fast the price drop in one month time, my patent engine is 85% efficient and yet I cant get any funding to build it?

-reply lechmo-Well, there's no way for America to supply only itself, the global economy will force USA (like every other country) to export all oil not used up within their own borders...so once they open up "this" Alaska field, the oil will reach the world market from the get go....but of course if Lindsey is right about what he says, that we all are deliberately kept in the dark about the worlds total oil resources, it changes everything...but is he right? maybe.

this guy know what hes thalking about he sid oil going down 50$ a barrel guys what he sid this 3 months when oil was over 100 $ a barrel guess what its about 60 $ a barrel thats a lot closer to 50 than 100
