inascoltabile. "rugiadosje" "SJON TROPPO" "voi vi scjtate" ...... e questo è bergonzi... per me è stato un bluff, ma quale tenore verdiano ? qualcuno ha mai sentito niente in cui lui non calasse ????

I saw Bergonzi perform Rodolfo with Renata Tebaldi at the old Met. I then proceded to hear him every year for 25 years consecutively. It's interesting to compare this lovely piece with Tito Schippa's rendition. Both were famous for beautiful diction.

quite unexpected, this dive in the xviii centure by the best verdian tenor ever... he omits the trill, that's true but the clarity of diction and the technique are such as to make one forget this : those vi-o-lette grazi-o-se so perfectly, idiomatically spelt... great Carlo!

I love his voice and interpretation, but I don't too like how he slides up to some of his highest notes.
