They probably couldn't set up their pioneer mix table, so they had to improvise.

Ur right, im a DJ/musician/producer house/electro/Indie. As far as live sets go, only vinyl for me im afraid, yes i have done sets in clubs where they use them (in my opinion) horrible cdj pioneer things! Soz but vinyl is the only way forward for me or if using a cd deck, has ti be the Technics one, thats the closest and "CDDJ" will get to vinyl! Sick pieces! But yeah i scratch, i mix and i do live sets with midi instruments/kaoss pad/punch buttoms etc etc

In my opinon just playing off a computer or cd is getting old and cliche i mean now aday the only really popular dj using Vinyl is DJ Shadow, it sounds like your real new to the scene and havent figured out that those DJ's you know and love that are not scratching are probubly just pushing play at their concerts, dont get me wrong i love this but to discredit the few vinyl dj's we got going no adays as cliche is stupid

Justice does scratch as far as they push foward or pull back on ther virtual cd turntables not to get the classic scratch sound though and I really disagree with you Dj Shadow Cut Chemist Tipper Kid Koala (dj for The Gorilaz) all scratch its not cliche it just shows that those dj's are not just pushing play they are using real vinyl and doing a style called turntabilism in my opinion they are more talented as DJ's maybe not producers than the slough of dj's that get their mac out and push play

Justice does not scratch, only horrible cliche DJ's do that.
