Hi, i tried the steps to create a luminosity filter, seems like my Red channel is quite 'noisy' . After creating the filter and changing blend mode to Lumin, i can see noise appearing on the face of subject .. is this normal ? cos the final product still has these noise in there. I tried this with a number of images but still the same.Perhaps you can help me out here.Thx.

can this work with photoshop cs3 extended?

Go back and have another look at the video! This technique DEFINITELY works with PS 7. I have been using this one since Photoshop 5.0. Try using "Copy Merged" from the Edit menu when you are in the red channel as well... you might be working on a layer that is inactive.

Does this work with photoshop 7.0? When I try to copy the red channel, it just copies the red parts o it. It won't paste as a new black and white layer.
