For all of those who need a quick education, the term "emo" was coined in the late 80's to describe a style of hardcore punk which was less aggressive, more melodic and dealt with themes of a personal/emotional nature. Although many labels released music of this kind, the Dischord label-STT's 1st-was one of the first to champion this style of "emotional hardcore" and many bands ran with the gauntlet afterwards. Years later the term "emo" is being used and abused to describe an unrelated genre.

Some of us aren't lucky enough to live in your area (or in the same country for that matter) but you might think that someone who was fortunate enough to see STT recently might better use their energies posting a gig review for those of us who'll never have the opportunity.
