ok, Ripdall and Gilmour are absolute diferent. Gilmour is blues based style, more than progressive rock, Pink Floyd is (i think) progressive blues dued at Gilmour´s style. Both are amazing. Don´t compare.

Oh yes, Terje is miles ahead of Gilmour. Rypdal studied with George Russell who once influenced Eric Dolphy. Terje shares the same influences as Jeff Beck.

I like David Gilmour, but as a composer and guitar player....I think Terje is in another class.

Terje (pronounced Tur-yea in Nowegian) has a tone to weep for...totally distinctive. Only Jeff Beck and Eric Johnson have such unique tones of their own. B

Terje is like the Norwegian David Gilmour. He's a superb guitar man.

Fender made the 8 string guitar for free, when they heard it was for Terje Rypdal.. Norway's best guitarist of all time. He is a friend of Jeff Beck

Rypdal is one of the best composers of our time. |
