A ComhaltasLive favourite, here is Ernestine Healy (concertina), one of the Directors of the annual Meitheal Residential Summer School with a selection of jigs, joined by Fionnuala Rooney on harp. It is most definitely an anglo. Look for my videos of "First Night with my new concertina" and one or two other short ones I put up under my name. Those are played on an Anglo. You just find out which note is which button, and then learn the music by looking at it. After a short while, reading the music can become second nature! There are also good instruction books and videos... can anyone suggest one for malcolmgc?Jen

Actually, it *is* an Anglo. ;)English ones have the button rows running away from the hand rather than across as seen on the 30 button Anglo played here. Full-hand straps are also more common on the Anglo, while the English ones tend to have a thumb strap and a metal plate to rest the little finger on.Beautiful playing on both parts anyway.

That's an English concertina. I've mastered the Anglo and just about to start playing an English. English concertinas have the thumb rests that are illustrated in this video...

Clare, the ornamentation is extremely subtle and tasteful here, but there's quite a lot.
