Why is this god referred to as "he"?This god evolved from all the gods man created throughout the ages for every conceivable reason he couldn`t understand.It stands to reason that man, in his arrogance, created this god in man`s own image and referred to it as "he".The story was turned around in the bible to state that it was god who created man in god`s own image. This was done to make man`s creation of god more believable in order for man and the church to control their believers.

Thanks for clearing that up, the threads are all jumbled and not making much sense. As for Hitchens being racist, he is attacking peoples faith in regard to its fallacy, failing and for being illogical. It could be called racist if he was singling out one racial group but he pours his delicious scorn on them all pretty evenly

I hate how there are these "debates". There may as well be debates on whether Harry Potter is fiction or not. What a waste of time, and what an insulting treatment of truth. The religious argument is summed up in "I believe in God because I believe it. Reason? lalalalalalalalalalalal I'm not listening I'm not listening".
