To be honest, if you visited many of the places shown in this (Baraka) you would see they've greatly changed (mostly for the better). Many of them are more modernized and the amount of squalour that you see here is diminished or in the worse cases hidden. The donkey in the beginning is quite saddening, the load they put on them is disgusting
