TACUARA NOD's music is a pure experiment leading to nowhere. Xenakis is not experimenting in the way you mean it. He is already somewhere or tries to approach something that can only be "comprehended" through music.

Just depends on whether you're interested in de-programming yourself. I had a similar experience when studying the early electronic music - to me it sounded like sound effects from horror and sci-fi movies of the same period. Which of course was wrong. It was the other way around. Now, the use of vibrato in this piece, that can be something altogether different - hence, why early on Xenakis didn't use vibrato (nor did Varese at all after his early period).

Ah, GP. It's simply falsetto. Used to be very common (and is done in popcul: Josh Groban, comes to mind), hence indicating your cultural conditioning.

thanks for posting more Xenakis on youtube .U have helped make this a truly needed resource.thereis no Xenakis at any of my libraries nor anyof the universities nmy town. I'm not surprised. Funny thing is public librarie has some boulezand many of Boulez conducting.Must have been a gift .

Thanks for uploading this. Never heard this before. Curious to use vibrato in a rigorous way as a compositional element (a temporal element).

That kind of male singing is something I can`t take seriously. It always reminds of a hysterical fat drag queen, but that`s probably just me. I think Xenakis is overrated.
