ACTUALLYse7en is correct. It was called "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland". You are talking about "Through the Looking Glass", which is a sequel to "Alice's Adventure in Wonderland." Both by Lewis Carroll.

The name of the novel was "Alice's adventures in wonderland".... In the very beginning she eats "MUSHROOMS" by a tree while watching her little sister swim. And from there the trip begins. Look it up!

Considering that the novel the book was based off was writen in 1865, and LSD was first synthesized in 1938, i highly doubt it was based off a LSD trip. An interesting thing is, it has been alleged that Lewis Carroll, author of 'Alice in Wonderland', was a pedophile.

Actually, he was an instructor and on a field trip across the Thames, he told the children a story while they ate their lunch. One of children was named Alice and so she was delighted to have a story with her name in it. She was so pleased with it that she asked Carroll to write it down for her...and he did. Later, it was published and became the best known children's book of all time:) It's a messed up storyline...but it's so creative :)
