a great performance, but what a rigidly mechanical, angry and disappointing ending that was. he completely ruined a tender part of the music: right at 6:14 he started working the piano like it was a punching-bag. i don't know why he did it, it's not like him. i love his Chopin performances and believe in him like i always have, but what he displayed at the end was not Chopin, and i wouldn't want to have that performance on CD. feel free to hate me.

You didnt live in Chopins time, nor did you see him play his own music, so let him play how he wants

is this the competition cited in wikipedia "The Croatian pianist Ivo Pogorelić was thrust into the musical spotlight when, after being eliminated in the third round of the 1980 International Frederick Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Argerich proclaimed him a genius and left the jury in protest." ???

yes even though your comments have been thumbed down i agree with you and as a good pianist with lifelong interest in chopin's music, technically he is amazing but abrupt cutting of chords, tone production, forward movement of arpeggios etc he is lacking, apropos argerich is a far superior rendition of this piece, |
