Thanks for name him. Didn't know him until now, and i find him great!

I agree. He does sound heftier.

Right, but Jaroussky, Scholl, and Asawa don't have the same kind of voice Daniels does. He has more heft to his sound I think (which make it possible for him to sing Rossini like this).

You forgot Lawrence Zazzo - he is surely between the best!

He's really something. Youtube doesn't do this justice.

I absolutely agree with the list, but you forgot Lawrence Zazzo, of course!

I am listening to "A dispetto d'un volto ingrato" by Bejun and though he has a lovely voice, I am not crazy about the sound made from too much tongue placement back into his throat. On Cencic I am listing to "Max Emanuel Cencic - Rossini Arias" I like his voice a lot.

Well David does a very good Intorno all'idol mio. I dont know 2 or 3 on your list so I need to check them out!

I'll say i have my top 5 based on recordings i have. This could change tomorrow:1.David Daniels (Hercules, Orfeo ed Euridice)2.Bejun Mehta (Tamerlano)3.Max Emmanuel Cencic (Rossini arias)4.Andreas Scholl (The Best of, Rodelinda)5.Philippe Jaroussky (Vivaldi Heroes, Carestini)special mention to Brian Asawa.

I think Jaroussky is up there. So is Daniels. Asawa is great. Of course Scholl is a fine singer.chris... |
