Well no, that's taking it to the extreme. To do the same to your argument: The American government should arrest and seize the assets of any person or company that makes more than $50,000 a year. Then this will be a perfect country.

Regardless of how anyone has or has not been taxed in the past, any tax hike will hurt the economy, and again, this is a horrible time for it. Whether you think that current taxing on the rich is "fair" or not, you will feel the effects of a tax hike on them. You'll also see millions of people pulling investments out of the economy after the proposed doubling of the capitol gains tax and threats of corporate profit seizures. So you can play class warfare all you want. This is a sinking ship.
