But if britain wasn't fighting the war could have played out much worse for the US and canada - so without everything together we'd all be fucked.The simple fact of the matter is that if britain hadn't stood against nazi germany then europe would have fallen. So there's no point arguing 'without x country y country would be speaking german!' because without each of them we'd have been screwed.

Some low grade patriotism going on here on all sides. I'm northern irish but want to remain part of the UK (just so you know my stance)But if it weren't for the US the falklands would have been lost - fact.If it weren't for the US we'd have lost WW2, although their involvement in WW1 was much less important.And britain did not thrash the nazis until american involement. I point to dunkirk as an example of a failure tbh.USA was the only nation that was richer after the war.
