none of the below statements are true. jean baptiste' wife made those little thin wax paper flowers for a living from their caravan. it was some of them that caught fire, i am fairly confidient in this story but cannot be 100% sure.

brn20 what do you mean " his wife had to borrow someone else's fingers I live in the south of Italy I am 13 years old and you would be so careless to say this down here ; you say legend ,could you please explain thank you in advance
brn20 (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
No he lost his ears, and his wife had to borrow someone else's fingers, which is where the legend comes from. The caravan caught fire after a cake was left cooking unattended, so after this Reinhardt had an intense phobia of cakes. One of, if not the, best guitarists ever.

Django was lucky to have his last two fingers to be survived. Imagine if he only had one finger only to play guitar. I probably think he could of still went on with the one finger but good he kept going with the two fingers till the end. Djagno is a legend and one of the best.

That wasn't before he began playing. When his fingers were damaged, he had to relearn the guitar, but he was able to play before that as well.
