Dear bknight917 - I think you're confused, nobody was ever saying that this video was a Chopin etude. "Amatuneur" was replying to someone else when he said it was one of Chopin's easiest etudes.

To people complaining about the alterations: this is exactly the kind of piece that pianists should be free to change/simplify/experiment with. Let's be honest, it's not a deep piece of music. It's a technical challenge that's also designed to woo and entertain an audience, nothing more. It's not as if Cziffra decided to change the melody of Moonlight Sonata, folks. He just changed some absurd octave leaps, it doesn't detract from the music at all.
