Scheimer wasn't on a non-violent kick...it was a result of the Standards and Practices of Saturday morning TV.

The same thing happened to me..My dad..wholike Mr.Hamil's father was an abusive, controlling, foul mouthed and patronizing Fat A-! "Go outsideand play and G- Damn It..Don't you give me anylip service". I wished that "Batman","Robin" and "Superman"gave him a punch in the mouth and lock him up!

Mr.Kane Didn't care for the comedic versions of"Batman & Robin". But? Personally,I don't care what Mr.Kane said.I like the way that he was presented in a comedicbut not too silly character.

Denny O'Neil and Paul Dini: two of the best things to happen to Batman...

Lou Scheimer said when Bob Kane visited the studios, he acted dark and gloomy and depressed. Scheimer never said what year that visit took place. I'm guessing it was around 1977. Remember when Filmation produced the original Batman cartoons in the 60s,there were fight scenes with Batman throwing punches. Then Scheimer gets on his non-violence kick and kills all the action in '77. You'd be depressed, too, if the character you co-created was not allowed to kick the Joker's ass anymore.

Yeah, I always liked Denny O'Neil's take on the character. He was editor during the 90's and part of some of the formative stories like Knightfall.
