I hate to say it, but even according to warped opinions present on Head-Fi, Bose actually stands for 'buy other sound equipment'. They just aren't very good for your money. If he wants some real kickass IEM's, he should try some Future Sonics Atrio M5/8's or Jays Q-Jays.($200) Or if you have a spare ~$1500 short and want the best custom IEM's in the world, you can get ear impressions from an audiologist and buy a pair of Ultimate Ears 11's. They rival full size headphones, like my HFI-780's.
