I was stationed in Grand Forks from 1978 to 1981, i even worked at the skating rink, we had a flood in the spring of 1979, it compaired nothing to the flood of 1997. i still consider Grand Forks as my second home. i live n pensacola florida. i wish one day to return to grand forks. I was devistated watching the flood of 1997 on CNN. I pray that everyone is safe

I live here. I don't remember a flood. I remember a lot of warnings but no flood...

ahahahha i was here i was like 11 i remeber my parents handing lunch out to ppl that where sand bagging our house good shit had like 50 pumps army and shit i was like cool back then now im like holy shit

My Dad had to work in the 97 one we had to drive from killdeer Nd Bout 300 miles away but i was only 2 XD

I agree, sure I was only like four in '97 but it's still not as bad. My school went to see 'Keep the Faith' today, really good. And this is good too. Great job ^_^

This flood I think was our first real test of the new levee system and flood gates. I wonder if it wouldn't have been much higher had the levees not been pushed back so far.
