"Washboard" Lissa Driscoll plays at the Apple Barrel bar on Frenchmen Street in New Orleans every Monday night. She's been living in a shed behind Grayson Capps' house.

He's singing about real people: "Washboard" Lissa Driscoll (he misspelled her name), aka Ragtime Annie or Washboard Annie. She still plays on Royal Street in New Orleans, usually playing guitar. I used to play with her, and with Augie (Rodola) Jr & the Big Mess Band.

I have to agree, His music sounds like it's coming from somewhere deep, like it's been through a lifetime and back. It carries a lot of emotion.

There is something "lived in" about all Grayson's songs. I love his work.

I heard this song for the first time on the movie like a lot of people but I truely love it. So pure. It's sounds like a real song. Not some sarranade by a pretty little rich boy. I love it.

Yeah, That's where I heard it first. Love the film and love the songs.

Scenery and good music go very well together, especially when its scenery this beautiful mixed with a song this divine. Perfect choice on everything, masterpiece. |
