The singing brain cell must reside in a real primitive area of the brain, to be unaffected after all that. Kinda like, no matter how drunk you are, you can still turn on the car's ignition.

No, as a matter of fact, she used to sing (with a real singing voice). Look her up and play any of the old black and white videos and you will hear her actually sing instead of this crap.

Did Marianne Faithful always sound like that...? They both looked drugged and out-of-it, but Bowie is still out-singing her. She sounds tone deaf. I sincerely hope this was just a low point for her.
