actually they were PUFFY in Japan all along. The 'amiyumi' only came about because of legal issues with Sean 'Puffy' Combs, so they're Puffy Amiyumi in America. And yes, it doesn't mean anything...

It's not really supposed to have a meaning, it was just supposed to be "amiyumi" but their manger said they had to change their name for the american audiance. i don't really see why they had to but they did they don't know the meaning eather :)
