I can understand that. Like before when i would watch football and those chevorlete commercials came on, and they played this song i always thought " that guy sounds extremely racist." but thats because they only played a few parts. But now listening to it all the way through it has a deeper meaning then race. It means we are all united as one people and the USA ROCKS!! p.s. this songs kicks ass ^_^

I agree with you we all should be proud of our country i am from scotland and very proud to be scottish, i am proud to say i love john mellencamp as a songwriter and as an american he says it like it is,politicians in all countries are bullshitters and dont care for the common man,our country is a great song,america is a great country.
