Back in the day, all the clothes, cars and money was just the icing on the cake. All the golden era rappers like Rakim, KRS or Tribe or whoever always had an important message in their music. The old school acts created music you could live by. That's why Rap music is dead. It's no longer an art form. It has become a material commodity. Hip Hop used to be a lifestyle, now its an image that anybody can buy into.
