Oh sorry, i thought by commercial you meant poppy, purposely commercial sounding - mainstream. It's a classic song.
Blacksabbathisgod (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
uhh yeah, let's see it's on Guitar Hero, Iron Man the movie plays parts of it. I've heard both Iron Man and Crazy Train played at almost every Hockey and Football game I've been to (11 hockey games, 3 football games). I hear it on the local radio every day.

Iron Man is their most commercial song? Out of all Black Sabbath songs? Are you joking?
ShaunHorsePony (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
I actually think it's their greatest song. It may not be incredibly technical or "have much depth" but it has an unexplainable incredibly energy, the melody is magnificant, very epic, and the choice of notes in the solo are brilliant, the briefness of the solo makes it awesome too.

I agree that theres not much depth to this song, but in terms of riff-writing, to be able to make up a riff that any dumbass can play (ie myself) but can still fill an entire stadum shows Iommi's class
Blacksabbathisgod (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
It's still a great song, but very over-rated, and Iron Man is their most commercial song, and Paranoid is even more over-rated then Iron Man, but my belief is, is there is no such thing as a bad Sabbath song. And yes, both Paranoid and Rat Salad were fillers on Paranoid the album.

Honestly, I do love Sabbath but I don't think that this is one of their better songs. It has little, if any, real depth to it...musical or otherwise. Mostly, I think this song was probably just filler for the album. Also, Geezer rules! Woot!
