What i found so spooky was that Guinevere looked so like the modern day Hollywood actress Kiera Knightly, has anyone else noticed this , and can they explain it.

'Excalibur' was the closest thing to the legend. This version was merely a cheap attempt at non-fiction, and, as we fans of Atrhurian literature well know, King Athur was anything but. Read Mallory sometime, if you haven't already....

Beautiful song, beautiful voice.Quite right DaLeerius, film had a mediocre response at the cinema, personally i think it deserved better.

oh yes- "excalibur"- an arthurian tale, set in the dark ages, where all the knights wear shining full plate 15th century armour, about 600 years before it was designed, and all live in late medieval castles. Much more realistic......NOT!!!!

The saxons made britain hense, the term anglo saxon. In truth Britian is made of most major european tribes. Norse, franks, Saxons celts, picts, gaels and latins. Thats why perhaps they became a world empire. That and the King James Bible. ( pls keep your hate to a minimum, there may be children reading, LOL!)

I don't know why people seem to hate this movie so much. It's as realistic as the story could get. Plus it's better compared to the wannabe King Arthur movie that came out in 2007 "The Last Legion". Sure it's based off a good book, but the movie SUCKED! Not even the battles were cool! This actually had a pretty good cast, music, choice of location, and costuumes. Sure it's not perfect, but it's pretty good. The Director's Cut is better though. WAAAAAAAAY more character development and fighting!

A feeble attempt at de-fictionalizing an artfully told tale.Mallory must be spinning in his grave.Stick with 'Excalibur', folks.

God help us if the people responsible for this flop ever attempt a re-make of Ivanhoe... |
