This is how I understand the cheese/milk thingy: cheese is aged and matured milk = symbol for Laura Dern (or her acting) since she's is an aged and matured actress. Without her Inland Empire wouldn't be what it is, because of her brilliant and experienced acting. AND maybe the fact that Lynch got the idea for the movie after he meet Dern in his driveway and she asked if they should start working together again (though this is kinda speculative).

I'm pretty sure they wanted to say it at least 23 times, but because of time constraints and the failing light, they had to edit it down.

That woman standing there was quick to pretend she understood it, and wasn't at all convincing, you are an honest person.

I completely missed the whole David Lynch phenomenon having been in Africa from August '86 to '93. I just watched Blue Velvet for the first time last night and now I get it.However, the milk made from cheese thing is going to need some reflecting on my part before I get it.
