its the subtleties of his body language that says it all, the little backwards and forward leans, look at his eyebrows, his posture. Every great guitarist plays with their own personal emotion outlet. Derek's isn't so much in his body or face like Jimi or Joe Walsh, for example, but in the fucking ridiculous range and complexity of his sound.

can anyone get enough of this guy or what??
ChadizzleFoshizzle (August 23, 2008 at 6:52 am)
That's exactly what he's doing sir. You get a quality musician like Derek, he'll do that to you. that's the place every musician wants to be whenever they play music, where it comes directly from the heart, and not so much from the mind. True musicianship. and Soul.

Aaaaaaahhh, Derek Trucks... Awesome solo, I like the jazz touch it has. His tone reminds me a little bit of Jeff Beck.

nice quote from "my favorite things" @ 1:25 - 1:33. see, unlike other guitarists, derek can actually incorporate jazz into his playing and make the audience listen to what his overall message is.amazing |
