What this woman accomplished goes way beyond the music (which she was also brilliant at, just by the way ;) ). She opened so many doors. As if it wasn't enough to be so vocally and dramatically incredible.

One of the most extraordinary things I have ever seen. The 3 minutes of applause is LIFE. What a great american spirit, artist, and technician. I am weeping with joy at her musical soul and gift.

Incomprable. Greatest rendition of this aria by one of the all time best sopranos. And in her LAST performance...................Gift of God Leontyne Price

I have never heard anything so beautiful in all my days as a singer, actress, and performer... simply breathtaking.

Leontyne Price was born to sing Verdi. She is the greatest Aida that I have ever heard. And she sang this aria with enormous beauty and tremendous passion. She well deserved the long ovation. Brava, Leontyne! And thank you.

Oh my GOD! I don't think I will ever hear this aria sang any better. I agree with the comment with all my heart that God has singularly blessed Miss Price with that HEAVENLY VOICE! Callas is legendary but Price is heavenly! BRAVISSIMA!!!

The aria ends at 7:05, and at 10:09 (when this clip ends), the applause is still ringing. And I'm in tears watching this final unbroken close-up on this beauty's face, marveling at her ability as an actress as well as a soprano. Singularly gorgeous. |
