Being well educated does not mean you do not possess the ability to compartmentalise your beliefs.And I'm assuming the Dr is medical, rather than Dr in Physics - basically you're not a Scientist. I say that because Scientists have an evidence based philosophy, and any true Scientist could never believe in a God unless they compartmentalise.The entire universe is amazing, life is amazing; doesn't mean there is a God.

Let me ask you believers this question: what is the soul? I worked with profoundly autistic children who were so affected that they would never recognise their parents. With the right electro-chemical and anatomical manipulation, someone could be given these socially defined condition. If it wasn't their soul then it's not them that dies. Period. Therefore there cannot be a benevolent eternal god who offers afterlife. Live life NOW.

It was a proof-of-god fail.The fact that the sun is amazing shows more evidence of Gods non-existence, than his existence. If you are happy to say "God made it", rather than explain how it really came into existence, you HAVE to explain how god came into existence. So you find it hard to believe the sun "just happened"? Great. I find it even harder to believe that the sun was MADE by someone else who "just happened". You've made it one step more complicated, one step less likely. |
