Oh, I agree, you shouldn't let the rules get in the way of a good game, I just meant it tends to be easier to pick up if you are taught and have why things work the way they do explained. Of course, picking it up for youself can also be fun. It really comes down to personal preference.

Allan5366,Doing your best is what makes DND Fun. I'm the DM at a table of 4 (myself included) ADD feuled guys who hardly understand the rules.One fiasco involved the adventurers breaking into the kings stable and stealing all there horses, while the drow elf knifed the gatekeeper, than jumped onto the other two adventurers horses while they were plowing through the entire royal army............Rather than bitching about how illegal that was, i laughed and game them all 400 exp.
