The British Isles and Great Britain both refer to England, Scotland, Wales, the Isle of Wight, Man, Jersey, Guernsey.Britannia was the name given to the land by the Romans. It referred (Wikipedia) to an area covering most of Wales and England and a part of Southern Scotland. There is no way, however, that (Northern) falls under this toponymy.
