This was a very endearing clip. Made me even more interested in traveling to China.

Only a fool refuses to find out about "other martial arts" LOL. In fact, it's very unlikely to find a true master who only sticks to one art. As a matter of fact, the dude above, Master Yuan Xiu Gang AKA Shi Mao, studied Shaolin for 3 years before moving on to Wudang. So, I guess the key is to master at least one style before trying out something else.

OK! For one... what exactly am I claiming that had any likeness to a judo dude saying somthing about wasted arm movement? I'm just saying Shaolin aint soft. I am not critisizing any art, I love martial arts, Shaolin included, I'm just critisizing a fool, you bud ;) Take some of my advice, and stop wasting your breath with me, kay? your not gonna win, just train and be the best you can be.

bccritters, I can't agree more. It's no coincidence that centres of excellence for the martial arts are also centres of meditation. People tend to identify with THEIR styles and this just adds to the crap that forms the ego. This technique, that style, best, worst. Just how much are you training?

It's an interesting fabrication and just because you practice a chinese art doesn't mean you can't criticize. It's like someone who was claimed to be racist goes: "Oh, I have black friends." heh...yay... -_- |
