Odd how certain media will concetrate on the temporary ugly side of a certain culture, but totally leave out the other side, which happens to be one of the most beautiful in the world.

I have been watching Samputu since I was a kid and his shows are always great.

MAN, see these guys if you can, even if they're not doing a full-blown big-stage thing (like the vid at their website). I took my 5-year-old daughter to see one of their lower-production sets like this one, and it was amazing and unforgettable. Jean-Paul and the others are as approachable as the person sitting next to you at the lunch counter, and they got all the kids (or all who would volunteer) up for a big dance at the end. If they're anywhere near you, do NOT miss their performance.

Beautiful! Just beautiful! It sort of reminds me of the south pacific dances.
