Tribute to Ismail Shammout son of Al-Lod, Al-Led, or Lydda - Palestine.Ismail Shammout 1930-2006. Palestinian artist Ismail Shammout was born in 1930 in AL-Lod, AL-Led, or Lydda in Palestine. Ismail became a refugee fugitive at age 18, after the invasion of the Israel's Zionists to Palestine in 1948. Shammout lived in camps along with his parents, and hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees. Shammout continue drawing, and painting all his life. Shammout was one of the most influential Palestinian artists in the history of contemporary Arab painting. Shammout died at the age of 76 on July 9th, 2006.
