Yeah Aus here too - I'm not going to 'bash' either nation, but you can't find a single vid of a Russian aircraft without comments to the effect of 'F-15 is superior', 'Raptor rules the skies' and so on (Almost always people from the US, but I won't say you all do it, there are some that contribute to good conversation). No doubt about it, the Russian planes are always the poetical embodiment of innovation and technology.

FYI no Soviet piloted aircraft have ever claimed air to air engagement, and the versions of migs sold to other countries are downgraded versions all these kids talking about fighter aircraft like they have a degree

No, the Soviet Union was never an ally of the Greater German Empire. The reason why the two countries signed the non-aggression pact was to buy some time for both of the countries. The Soviet Union wasn't ready for a war because of the purges in the late 30's and Nazi Germany didn't want a two front war.

not really. when eritrea used it in the 1998 conflict with ethiopia, the EAF Su-27 shot down 4-5 migs. Pakistani F-16s downed 2 soviet mig 29's in 1982, and the USAF took out most of them in iraq and kosovo..........................................a good plane, but it underperformed in combat.

I couldn't give a rats arse if the the Mig 29 is Russian, American, or Fillipino Hebrew. The thing is a work of art. It's got balls. One of *the* most horny aircraft ever made. The 'Ferrari' of all jet aircaft. It's one handsome dude - probably the same reason I love the F-111. F14 & SU27. And that sleek lookin thing called a Mirage III. There's so many great aircraft, if you can get past the politics and bullshit...
