Yes, I played this for my audition along with a Bach Invention and was accepted. A quintessential russian romantic piece, play it with fierce passion. Also as a guitarist, you might want to make sure your technique on piano is up to par because the middle section can be challenging. Good luck to you!

It's a piano roll he made. Not really him because piano rolls captured the notes but not the dynamics. He must have played better than this.

I could span your penis over the whole floor, if I hit it with a vice. What the fuck sort of comment is that, anyway.

It depends on how well you can execute the piece. It definitely has an emotional impact, if you exhibit the proper musicality. Just remember that Rach is more about the musical gestalt than he is about particular notes and passages. Look to his symphonies (no.2) and piano concerti(no.3) for hardcore reference.

I'm a music student and my main instrument right now is classical guitar. But, I want to make the switch over into piano. Auditions are coming up, do you think this is a suitable piece? These are the audition requirements:1. a Prelude and Fugue from either book of the Well-Tempered Clavier by J.S. Bach 2. a fast movement from a classic era sonata (e.g., Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, etc.) 3. any work from 19th-century Romanticism or later
