The reason why the US is in the middle east is to establish a form of governance that can quell the tide of islamic extremism because it's unacceptable that that part of the world, with their copious amounts of wealth (oil), could be ruled by radical leaders who have openly expressed their intent to nuke Israel and other Western societies. In the name of world peace, it's a necessary thing that had to be done.

As a combat vet, I empathize with Mr. Johnson and respect him for what he has gone through. However, I do not agree that we should continue this war in Iraq. It has nothing to do with honoring or dishonoring troops. We didn't get into this war so that the troops could have honor. And they will not be stripped of any honor if we bring them home immediately.

Unless you have personally witnessed most of history aavelas, then the media is all YOU have also. I like to listen to every side before I make criticisms. Many of the supporters that I have heard so far refuse to even acknowledge the overwhelming amount of corroborative evidence as well as legitimate questions concerning many matters with connections to this administrations actions to cover-up or, in the least, not respond to valid concerns, not limited to the war effort.

Wow!!! I sure am glad some of us aren't afraid of taking the war to our enemies. We already saw what they can do if we sit on our rears and wait. I only wish people would study up before making naive comments based on the media's representation of war. War is not a pretty thing; if you think we should retreat because of casualties, then maybe you don't understand war. I'm thankful a solid majority of those fighting support the effort to defend our freedoms that so many of us take for granted.

Its too late Johnson, this is your new Vietnam. One with no real plan, and no hope of ever ending (israel/palestine). We have, in our foolish attempt to forcefully reshape the world into our image, done nothing more than kill innocent lives that knew none the better. So many casualties of this war that you continue to change the reasons for when one after another is debunked. No more excuses. No more lives.
