That Way and this song are the best from a sublime album as Before Hollywood still is. I was just mentioning today to a friend of mine when I saw r.e.m. for the first time in 1989 and Go-Betweens were the opening. Simply beatiful.

The Go-Betweens have never been mainstream. And there is a lot of music nowadays that is worth listen to - it just needs to be discovered.Btw: My favourite GB track ;-), thanks for posting.

Saw the band a few years ago at the Big Day Out, Melbourne. It was one of the most memorable gigs I have witnessed. So happy to see them perform live. A truly classy act! Best Australian band ever!

After an hour or so looking at 80's OZ music, I now feel real pity for kids growing up today.

You could say that both Grant's dad and Grant died when Grant was, relatively speaking, young. His own father's early loss brings some meaning to the line "his father's watch, he left it in the showers" -- not sure what. Maybe he took that one to the grave.

Not realy my kind of music. but he has got a decent voice, if any one could tell me some information about him, it would be much appreciated. I'm a McLennan and doing some family history research, i noticed that this singer was also a McLennan and i am trying to put it all together see were he comes up in the family tree...Many Thanks, Ben McLennan. |
