I disagree. If you want all out gas mileage and don't care about comfort or style the Geo Metro fits the bill. Excellent gas mileage but not really easy on the eyes. Don't get me wrong, the Prius is a good car. It's just pricey. Really though, a hybrid Camry and a Prius is an unfair comparision. The Prius is an economy car, the Camry, is well, a Camry with better gas mileage. The Hybrid Camry is also an excellent car.

My mom has a 2002 Toyota Camry and they had to fix something on the car so they gave her the 2009 Camry Hybrid. When I got into the car it was very weird, it was also extremely quiet too. Anyway I got in and to those folks who don't know they don't have a key, just put your foot on the brakes, hit the start button and put it in gear. It's an interesting car, doesn't accelerate like her 02 Camry but all in all I like it. I wouldn't buy it for myself but my fiance would love it!

Brand new Prius = $27,000 (or more) for 45mpg at best. Used Geo Metro = under $4k for well over 50mpg.The only thing green about the Prius is the green cash you'll have to dish out for it. It's a stupid vehicle, highly popular in Southern California and purchased mainly by the mindless trend followers who live here that can't think for themselves.

I felt compelled to sell off my gas guzler truck and try to support upstart sustainable fuels- I bought a 25yr old Mercedes Diesel and run Biodiesel from a station by my home. Expensive fuel, 25 mpg, not great but supprting new fuels w/ my $I know that CA will allow new-tech diesels this year from MBZ and VW(?)= low emissions, great MPG.I'll buy one next.New-type EU Diesel tech is high MPG low emissions.A good comprmis. Few Electrics r still runnin now. thats bst option.Ford has 65mpg in EU

Neither of those cars are made anymore, right? It sounds like you dislike "hybrids" so what car should we buy if we're interested in conserving fuel? And by the way, what do you drive and what kind of mileage are you getting? |
